D-FY-IT
Drug Free Youth In Texas

D-FY-IT is an acronym for “Drug Free Youth in Texas.” D-FY-IT is a nationwide, voluntary, incentive based anti-drug program that utilizes a urine test to enter the program.  Random tests are conducted throughout the school year. D-FY-IT members are given a Tee-Shirt and allowed to attend D-FY-IT sponsored events.

The students are tested for amphetamines, cocaine, marijuana, methamphetamines, opiates, and alcohol. The D-FY-IT coordinator schedules the random testing. The School utilizes an outside drug counselor who works closely with the program and is responsible for counseling any student that may test positive. D-FY-IT reports only to the student and parents when a test comes back positive. There is no school or law enforcement notification or involvement.

This program is completely dependent on the support of the local community. The people and businesses of the Amarillo area can help students in this community lead substance-free lives in the following ways. Parents can also serve by volunteering time to assist in the testing or help facilitate special events. Merchants help by giving donations.

Donations can be made to the program by contacting David Sirmon, D-FY-IT coordinator at Highland Park. We are so excited that you are considering investing in the students who make good choices by making donations to our program.

Thank you for considering this investment.
