Angel Food Ministries is a non-profit, non-denominational organization dedicated to providing grocery relief and financial support to communities throughout the United States.  Angel Food's groceries are sold in a quantity that can fit into a medium sized box at $25.00 per unit. Each month's menu is different than the previous month and consists of both fresh and frozen items with an average retail value of approximately $50.  Food sales and distribution are handled by church host sites.

They have clothing, food, rental assistance, utility assistance and offer referral services for drug/alcohol  programs.  GED, Choices Program (adolescents), anger management........ Tues. & Thurs. 12:30-3:00

Bethesda Outreach:

This is a large outreach center that assists families with food, clothing, household items and financial assistance.  Families can call on Tues. morning to get appointment for that week. 

    Food outreach is every Wednesday morning at 9am.  Parents' identification card and social security card and the

    child's social security card.  People must attend a short church session before getting assistance. Doors are locked at 9:45am.

     Need to bring proof of address, rental contract and utility bill.

    Financial assistance appointments are made every Monday between 10-12am.  They are made by telephone only so keep trying

     if the phone is busy.  Clothing outreach is scheduled for the third Thursday of the month at 9am.  Social security cards

     of parents and child are required.

Buchanan Community Center:

They have food and clothing give-away on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 9-11 am.  You must bring your ID.

Car Seats: 
Call Julie Poindexter @ NWTH  354-1444 ....  If a woman delivers at BSA, they will give a care seat to the family before they leave.  Call the Coalition of Health Services @ 337-1700.

Catholic Family Services:

Helps with shelter, first time home buyer classes for immigrants, refugees, adoption, eye program over 18, food assistance for 55 & older and disabled.

Guardianship:

Homeless Services for AISD:

 Is housed at Tyler Street Resource Center.  Can assist families that are homeless or at-risk of being homeless with school supplies, clothing, food and bus tokens.

 No charge for legal services if the person qualifies for services based on income.  Can not be used for any fee generated legal issue.  This service helps with housing and landlord services and other issues.

SSI is a federal program that makes monthly payments to people who have limited income and resources if they are 65 or older or if they are blind or have another disability.  Being eligible for SSI means you receive a monthly benefit and could receive medical services, Medicare, Medicaid, food stamps and other social services.  You must be a US citizen to get these benefits.

This church operates a health room where medical equipment such as walkers is loaned out.  The church offers assistance in providing furniture and household items needed to set up a house. The pantry and clothes closet is open the first and third Tuesday of the month at 1:00 pm.

Southwest Church of Christ:

Washington St. Family Service Center:

This place offers school supplies year around, lots of all-age clothing, toiletries, and emergency food.  They have ESL classes during the year (call for details)   adults, bring drivers' license or social security card.  Students need to bring their ID card and children need social security card.

West Texas Legal Services:

A person must qualify financially first.  If they qualify, they can receive services by attorney for family problems, housing & landlord issues, and other situations.
