Middle/High School
The
Junior Class trip was a great success. Juniors tour a college every
year at this time to both celebrate the end of TAKS, attendance and
discipline. I was able to take a larger percentage of students this
year than ever in the past. The students had a great time. We
visited all three AC campuses, lunched at the mall and then headed
to WTAMU. Many of the students commented that they were not aware
of particular programs that the colleges had to offer and most were
VERY impressed by the WTAMU campus. A big “THANK YOU!” to Mrs.
Collins and Mr. Mayfield for giving us the day, to Coach Cadenhead
for driving the bus, for Mrs. Scheller and Ms. Parish for helping
me with the trip.

The middle school awards and 8th graduation will be May 16th at 7:00 in the auditorium. Teachers will be presenting awards to 6th, 7th and 8th grade students. 8th graders will receive diplomas during the graduation ceremony. There will be a dance for the 8th graders, sponsored by their parents following graduation. The dance will take place in the middle school gym. Please come and join in your student’s accomplishments for the year.
Sixth graders have finished a unit
over the countries of Europe and some in Asia. Each student is now
working on a research project for each of the countries. They will
be required to research various facts about their assigned country
like the government, economy, imports, exports, GDP, per capita
income, literacy rate, landforms, etc. They will draw the flag and
map and include other interesting facts and photos about the
country on a poster board and use this as a basis for an oral
report. We plan to begin oral reports the week of Monday, May
19.
Thanks,
