Why choose Highland Park ISD?
Highland Park ISD is an award-winning school district in Amarillo, Texas, with a variety of excellent programs available for all students. As a technologically advanced district, Highland Park ISD provides each student a MacBook Air in grades 9-12 and an iPad in grades PreK-7 for daily instructional support. Our Art students sweep the show at annual competitive events and have their work displayed at local museums. We have a vibrant Band and Theatre Arts program who compete and perform statewide yearly. Last year, every sport in our girls’ athletics program made the playoffs. Highland Park has several students participating in the AP dual degree program through Amarillo College and have graduated with their Associate’s Degree, even before graduating High School. We are one of a handful of school districts in the Nation to offer the Gateway to Health Careers program for the 2016-2017 school year. The project provides a clearly-articulated Program of Study in Health Science Technology where students can graduate high school with an endorsement in Public Service through the House Bill 5: Foundation High School Program. These are just a few of the amazing opportunities available to students at Highland Park.
Combine all of this with a highly qualified faculty, small class sizes, and an environment where students and staff know and support one another and you have the best of everything!
How do I transfer my student to Highland Park?
Transfer students need to be in good standing at their previous school. We look at discipline, attendance, grades and test scores to determine eligibility as a transfer student. When completing the transfer packet, include student’s discipline record(s), attendance, grades, STAAR scores, letter of recommendation from a previous teacher or school and a personal letter from parents describing why you want your child to attend Highland Park.
We invite you to be a part of our family! Contact the campus registrar for information on how you can complete a transfer packet today.
