Highland Park athletics this week: Monday- Girls golf at Borger Softball at HP vs Clarendon JV (6pm) Tuesday- Boys golf at Borger Softball at HP vs Sunray (4pm) Thursday- Boys regional powerlifting at Brownfield (3:30pm) MS Track at Olton Baseball Tournament (HP vs Dalhart in Fritch 3pm) Friday- HS Track at Olton Saturday- Baseball Tournament (HP vs Follett in Stinnett 9am) Softball vs River Road at River Road (11am and 1pm)

Equipped Lady Hornet Powerlifters are bringing home some hardware, too! Natalia Garcia placed 3rd in her weight class and qualified for state. Elena Gonzalez placed 3rd in her weight class and qualified for state. Olivia Estep placed 8th in her weight class. It’s been 10 years since our first and only girl competed in a state powerlifting meet. This year, our girls made school history, and we are sending 3 total!! Congrats to Roxanne, Natalia, and Elena!! Go Lady Hornets!!!!

Special shoutout to the middle school track teams. They competed in their first track meet of the year at the Pantex Relays in Fritch. All four teams, 7th and 8th grade boys and girls, won first place team overall at the meet.

Unequipped Lady Hornet Powerlifters are bringing home some hardware! Maria Elizondo placed 5th in the 132 lb. Weight class. Mia Sanchez placed 4th in the 114 lb. Weight class. Roxanne Shields placed 2nd in the 105 weight class and qualified for the state competition in Edinburg, Tx. Way to go Lady Hornets!!

Spanish 3 students participated in the Language Festival at the Happy State Bank Stadium in Canyon, TX. Eiza Orratia-Rodríguez won first place in the intermediate reciting poetry category, and Campbell Bargas earned second place in the talent category.

Another shoutout to our powerlifting teams for both getting first place at our Ralph Shemwell Memorial PL meet Saturday. Our boys and girls are doing a great job at HP!!

STATE BOUND Band Members!! 🎉👏🏻🎉👏🏻🎉👏🏻🎉👏🏻🎉👏🏻🎉 Congratulations to Highland Park High School Band members Brenlyn Caswell (9th) and James Newberry III (10th) who both earned trips to the 2025 Texas State Solo and Ensemble Contest! This UIL State event will take place in Austin, in May of this year. Brenlyn and James both took on the challenge of competeting at the region level with Class 1 solos (most difficult), performed them from memory, (required) and earned 1st division ratings from the adjudicator! 🥇🥇 Congratulations and Best of Luck as you represent HP at the state level!

HP Middle & High School Band students recently competed in UIL Solo and Ensemble Contest and achieved some fantastic results! It addition to the personal growth and accomplishment all of these students gained, we also had students earn 1st and 2nd division medals from the judges!
